The Barbados Tourism Authority, along with a number of resort properties afforded TPT's Jim Zura and the crew from Travelview International a three-week stint in the most eastward of the Carribbean Isands.  Arguably among the most upscale tropical retreats, this little nation has a well-documented history tracing back to 1627..

From the Spanish explorers who marveled at the bearded fig trees ("Barbados" means "bearded ones") through British domination and the unfortunate days of slavery, this beautiful gem of the Carribbean has evolved into a thriving economy of tourism, sugar cane and rum.  With its independence from Great Britain, the island's government, business, educational and private sectors consist chiefly of people of African descent,  who universally pride themselves in dignity, decorum, and hospitality.
"The beauty of it all seems to caress you every day," mused Jim.  "Coral reefs with universities of tropical fish are just a splash away on the resort's beachfront. Beaufitul vistas of sugar cane fields and rocky cliffs can be found on a short drive to the east side of the island.  And the friendly and helpful people make this an incredibly memorable experience.  I really hope to come back for an actual vacation, where I don't have to put in 10- to 14-hour days!"
