A
Telly Award Winning Documentary:
Boys & Girls Harbor |
 |
Boys &
Girls Harbor provides an oasis of family normalcy, an encouraging
environment, and a full-time residence to mistreated children.
Founded in 1947, the 200-acre campus in LaPorte, Texas across from
Galveston bay has been home to more than 2,000 children since it opened. |
 |
The nine
cottage-homes are anchored by full-time live-in house parents, who care
for the kids as if they were their own. With a working farm, gym,
computer room and other amenities, the Harbor provides a family-unit
security and love to kids who didn't previously have this in their
lives. |
 |
Jim Zura spent
two days shooting at the facility and 25 hours of editing to produce a
15-minute documentary, a 4-minute montage, and a 30-second PSA. |
